Anything done should be done well, and I'm an over-achiever in everything I do. Life is like champagne! I believe that every day is Saturday night, and every Saturday night is New Year's Eve! But doing one thing well "forever" couldn't be more boring. While I excel in music as a classical pianist, my interests are infinite - from science, literature, technology, and electronics to culinary arts, crafts, hobbies, and everything in-between.
Thomas Edison once said "show me a satisfied man and I'll show you a failure". I believe he meant that we should briefly savor our achievements and then move on to conquer something else. Subscribing to that theory, there have been many reincarnations and several careers in my life, corporate and otherwise, all vastly different and equally rewarding. Now, nearing 69, I just graduated with a GPA of 99% for 4.0, passed the national board exam and am now a nationally certified licensed massage therapist. In Sept. 2011 I plan to to go back to school and hope to get my degree in 2016 at age 75. Something new - something different - something else to "master". Am beginning to think my role in life is to inspire others to continue to learn and grow. If I fear anything, it's losing my mind.
